Good show last night. Not as strong as the Nassau Coliseum show a few weeks back in my opinion. His voice started out rougher than that one did, didn't de-growl for 4-5 songs. Started kicking after then though. Killer "Thunder on the Mountain" - never thought I'd be excited for that song, but the band and that new arrangement is awesome. Finally got into the new "Tangled" by the end, mostly when it hits "bluueeee" and it gets real quiet. I hate to say it since there are so few classics in the set, but "Desolation Row" could use a shake-up or a rest.

"Full Moon and Empty Arms" was a nice surprise, and one of the best-performed standards I thought. He should consider making that a regular, maybe take out "Autumn Leaves."

Yeah I was at the Nassau Coliseum show, but even that night he started strong and started to fall back into his growling routine towards the end. What that tells me, is that we might be nearing that end of the Sinatra songs. They don't sound as pristine as they did when he first started singing them.

Excellent. Hi Chester,
If I used emoticons, I’d give ya that laughing one!
I’m guessing there are quality photos like that all over Brillo’s Pad.

Bob should let it all hang out (ie, bald) like Paul Simon, James Taylor, Little Richard, Van Morrison etc etc

I don't know about that  The hair is one of the defining characteristics of his hole career. He's always had a good head of hair. He shouldn't go bald, but he definitely needs a haircut.

I think his hair has only receded in the front, but he was born cursed that way. Anyway, if he did go all natural, lame stream media would have a field day.

Good show, highlights were summer days, once upon a time, tangled, erk, desolation, thunder, lovesick.

At the end of once upon a time the sound guy must have thought the song was over and shut off bob’s mic so when he sang the last line all we heard was”...time, never comes again”.

Tangles was sung with great deliberate care, as if he was carrying an egg and didn’t want to drop it. He sang “rain pouring on his broken shoes”, is that new?

No line up after love sick, just walks away. Line up after thin man with bob putting his hands out like “what more could you possibly want?"

sat in the last row of the center floor section, back against the wall. Had the whole right half of my row to myself, 7 or 8 seats to stretch out and make myself at home. Comfortable seats at the beacon haha.

The broken shoes were there in Boston, but not in Broomfield.

Really fantastic show last night (tues nov 21st).

My first show since the first capitol theater port chester show back in June, so the first time live hearing alot of the rearrangments. Unexpectedly, loved the re-arranged 'tangled up in blue'- adventurous and .. it worked! (for me, I know not for everyone, apparently). Loved most of the other re-arrangements. and of course the jazz-standard ballads were amazing, brought down the house.
...more later...

last night (tues) much stronger for me than night one. they're getting looser and tighter at the same time, if that makes any sense. crowd was looser and more enthusiastic as well. felt like an uptight, opening night, night at the met to stare at the van gogh and matisse without moving a muscle crowd on monday. tonight people stood for the first three songs at least and the encore. bob was really spitting fire and charlie played some absolutely ridiculous guitar. has been nice to see george open up as well this fall. really strong show. looking forward to tonight...

its a reserved seat show so they don't do 'early entry'.. but be advised there are long lines to get in as there are metal detectors, etc- one tip- go to the Amsterdam Ave entrance rather then Broadway, the lines are shorter. allow some time to get in to the venue. I think i was there last night by 6:45, in by 7, and they let people sit about then. Mavis comes on sharp at 7:30 and Bob about 8:30-ish?

enjoy! wish i was going another night!

Tonight Mavis Staples posted an instagram video of Keith Richards and her singing backstage.

I'm guessing Keith and Bob had a catch-up!

Its a shame Bob no longer invites guests onstage with him to play a song or too.

When was the last time somebody other than his band joined him on stage?

Knopfler perhaps?

Yes, thanks Bill & all the Pagelitos!

Bob's sticking with the tried & true again, regardless of residency...again.

AmericanaramA tour: jeff tweedy and jim james

Looking forward to the wrapup this week. I almost feel like i'm there since i'm at the same place i usually am when he's at beacon. I even went so far as to looking up the train ride this time. Still churning my thoughts around the fall tour. Enjoyable for sure.
