Have fun DC’ers, while I try to find something in Raleigh tonight!
Don’t look like much happenin there...ugh.

Seeing this post brings back memories of a wonderful evening and a fantastic performance. 'til next time, Bob! Sounds as if you are both Barefoot and Fancy-Free! Happy travels!

Well, Palin, I hope you are able to make at least one of the three shows mentioned above. All recommended highly (IMHO)!
- Dave Rawlings has Gillian Welch with him, so I think I’d lean towards that one if you can only do one.
Meanwhile, I’ll be draggin’ my ass around Raleigh/ Durham searching out some good local music, I guess.

Not totally sure what this means.
My own 2 cents would be to drop Scarlet permanently.
It’s seen its day.

to me modal music sounds in between worlds like a ghost is,

in Richmond, to me, Scarlet had a beautiful modal sound that was gone

days later when i heard it in DC sounding into a tonal treatment again

here's a video explaining that change when arranging a song, but just my own opinion

"Reharmonize a Tonal Jazz Song as a Modal Jazz Song" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NpdIjvxVSg

Scarlet Town....it's just a banjo ballad...something Clarence Ashley would have sung & frailed too....
