Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - Bob Dylan is an American singer-songwriter, author, musician and poet who has been a major figure in popular music for over five decades. His career accomplishments have been recognized with the Polar Music Prize, the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, Kennedy Center Honors, and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Nashville Songwriters and Songwriters Hall of Fame. He was listed as one of TIME Magazine's 100 most influential people of the 20th century.

Dylan and Knopfler, the former frontman for Dire Straits, toured Europe together last year and often collaborated onstage. The pair first worked together in 1979 on Slow Train Coming and again on 1983's Infidels.

This year Dylan releases his 35th album, Tempest, on September 11th, the 50 year anniversary of his self titled debut. Tempest includes the song "Roll On John," a tribute to John Lennon.

Hal, you'd better stay sober then!
Best to stay away from the likes of Sweet Melinda, Queen and Pig or you might be trying to catch dinosaurs!
Thank Hal & Beans for doing this! Yes.

I'll probably be babysitting someone who shall remain nameless. Frank. So, I'll likely behave myself.

I asked Paul James on Facebook that if he got a phone call to bring his guitar down to the ACC tonight to ask Bob about playing that exact song

It seems like Bob has made a bit more of an effort in the major markets on this tour. I have a hunch about Narrow Way as well. However, his voice sounded less than perfect on last night's PIB recording.

Isn't it better that he's revealed Tempest gradually, rather than cramming a third of the album in his sets from the get go? That makes the songs more of an event. If "Duquesne Whistle" was the regular opener, people would be saying how sick of it they were by now. Continuing to unveil the album piecemeal (fingers crossed) gives us something to look forward to for a while.
