The sheer quantity of rearrangements is pretty radical in itself.

Wow, this TUIB is really tangled up in.. something.
And then a completely unknown song starts... Oh, it's Honest With Me.

This is great, thank you Bob! :D

... I wonder if somewhere out there a song exists that sounds like the new Honest. I love the detectives around here who find Bob's sources of inspirations.

Sounds like a major re-vamp of the sound. So many new arrangements, and pretty complex ones at that. Not everything is working smoothly yet, but the new TOTM is really great - bit of a Link Wray vibe here.

Dylan seems to be in one of those 'gonzo-creative' spells, turning things inside-out and upside-down. There were obviously some intensive rehearsals before this tour. The voice is strong and committed. Parts of the show have the fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants feel of earlier years of the NET. In any case, it's the biggest musical shake-up we've seen for a while. Should be an interesting tour.

Wow, this might be best Thunder On The Mountain ever.
It's rocking and moving and just fun. :)

Loving the new setlist so far. Tangled is great, fills the gaping whole left by the removal of spirit on the water. Im at desolation row now, oops, no, thats trying to get to heaven. I feel this show is in the same spirit as those majestic 2006 shows. Gosh i miss the circus organ and the rough voice. Hope it gets rougher. Keep it coming Bob!

That Tangled Up in Blue is pretty unusual, almost reminds me of this: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YcR5iUyVmiQ

God Bob Dylan's a weird artist, isn't he?

It's a setlist that's about 1/4 old American Standards, 1/4 classics and 50% recent material but all his own songs are rearranged beyond recognition. After reinventing himself as a crooner for the past 3 years he starts off this leg with all his own material absolutely belted out at full blast with drum solos and Link Wray riffs. As a fan it's weird - I can only imagine what the average punter made of all this.

Regardless, I love it.

Why can't Bob get a jacket that fits him?

I totally agree. More changes than in years. Cool.

The new Tangled and Tryin' arrangements are ... interesting. Babe, Thunder and Honest are great. September is great, too (although I can't do much with the whole Triplicate stuff).

Blowin' should be replaced by a fresher song.

But all in all - great changes. Who would have thought it?

If he's gonna play Tryin' To Get To Heaven, he needs to go back to the original arrangement.

Yeah, original arrangements are what Bob is all about.
