I'm done going to shows. That was it for me. Until something changes.

Did you really pay $435?

870 plus tax and fees (2 tix). I basically stopped going to shows during the Denny years (I'd catch 1-2 a year). I've gone to a ton (maybe 60+) since Charlie rejoined and went to at least that many during high school/college from 99-04 but after last night I'm quitting again. Bit depressed about it but life's too short to pay thousands and thousands of dollars to watch that over and over. Even (especially) from the front. Thanks for the memories Bob.

They weren't scalped tickets. Those are the face value cost (435 each) of the front row package.

Oh yeah, the "VIP" scam.

Front row face value was $435. Insane, right? I'm with Abe. I used to go to 10 shows a year. I'm down to two. Too $$$ and lack luster
I mean we had to break our necks if he sat at the piano. That was just to see his nose up to his hair. If we sat when he was center, all you could see was his stomach up. If you wanted to catch his funny dance moves you'd have to stand. Then security yells at you. All for $435

Well, as I just told Sweet Melinda:
I was in a prime location for Shelburne. Dead center, maybe 3 or 4 people rows back, on a little incline about a foot or two above the rail heads, where even Bob's shoes were visible. Perfect.

One of the best "venue/standing location/sound/people vibe/weather" shows ever...and Bob pulled through pretty well amidst the American Standard snoozers he insists on including.

So simple to snag a last min ticket.
Didn't have to break the bank either. Paid less than face value, which I think was $75 GA.
No security hassles...An extremely enjoyable evening!
No need to bother with Providence after setting the bar so high.

Hope this doesn't sound snobby uppity.
Just telling it like it is.

Security?

Not really. They can tell us to sit but we have the legal right to stand.
In 2014 in Boston I paid 900 for a 400 dollar seat. My chair was so low I couldn't see over the stage. The venue had a deal with the ticket agency I bought from. My seat never went on sale to the public. Anyway, I couldn't see if I sat. My head was below the stage. Security tried to force me to sit. Threatened to toss me. The house manager threatened to toss me. I stood for the rest of the show. No one tossed me.

If you're standing at your seat, they can't say much. They can word it to scare you to sit but in reality you don't have to.

Last night security asked me if I was going to stand the whole show. He was forceful in his tone. I sit for the standards anyway if I can see bobs face. I sat for about 6 songs out of 20. Wallingford I couldn't see anything if I sat. I stood the whole concert. No problem.

In Montreal a few years ago (2006 or 2008 ?) the people in front row were allowed to stand and lean against the rail at the front of the stage. The rest of us could stand but most people sat down for most of the show.

Don't know how it will be this time...I will let you know. I think the stage is pretty low but I plan on standing for most of the show.

Barefoot
Doesn't sound snobby at all. I just can't do GA with my MdDS. I had to skip those.

I'll say this
His vocals have punch again. His piano playing is kicked up a notch. Summer Days is frigging awesome as well as Ballad. The biggest surprise for me was how much I loved That Old Black Magic. Haha. Man, the music was perfect and his rasp was too. Like Louie Prima's delivery. It was great haha

Scope
enjoy!!!! And STAND

Agree on all accounts.

The band looked like they were struggling to not fall asleep on stage.

Probably because they were all worn out from the Kick-Ass show the night before.

This was my second time seeing him at the PPAC and I couldn't agree more about his vocals coming through loud and clear. I hope he sticks to playing old theatres like this from now on. The types of shows he's been doing the last few years are meant for small indoor venues. As for the band looking tired, I couldn't really tell from the balcony, but they sounded good to me (though maybe not as energized as I've seen them before). It was definitely a good night for Bob though.

it very well may have been that. that's what my gf and i thought in retrospect. i really liked the two port chester shows. i will say that there did seem to be a bit of boredom up close, which i've seen at various times before band change were made, but could have just been a tired night... maybe i'm just bitter that tangled (a song i've never tired of hearing live in 20 years) returned last night in the 13 slot and we got All or Nothing At All instead on Wednesday ;)... I'd argue Tangled is all and AoNAA is nothing at all...

What I noticed is that the music and singing has pizazz but Bob doesn't as much as previous tours. Better music and singing and less energetic on stage. If that makes sense.
