Since Nottingham or before this? Seems a bit more electric and as some one mentioned more like Lou Reed Sweet Jane.

Mp3 from Nottingham is here (Thank Spot for a great recording)

It didn't feature in London so unless it started in Cardiff or Bournemouth? In any event, it rocks and was probably the highlight of a strong evening's work.

That electric injection works wonders and the vocal is ModBob gold.

Tangled Up In Blue Rinse

Maybe he saw that RTR footage and thought he'd give it some strolling thunder?

I think that version leaves a LOT to be desired when compared to inspired performances of the previous version. Bored me. Hope it's a temporary experimentation (feel the same regarding the piano-driven THC arrangement) and not here to stay for the summer shows...or gets drastically improved.

The Lou Reed riff was toned down tonight, but it was a great version!

I like the electric guitar riffs and the lyric variations:
"Well he helped her out of a jam I guess / Then he let the law take its course"
I can't tell where they drifted down to, though. Kinda sounds like a combination of Barcelona and Bicycle?
He even gives Charlie a whole verse to solo on (while he walks to the piano maybe?).
Anyway, with the static setlists, any sort of new energy injection is good by me.

Charlie is killing it in the instrumental break on the Glasgow version:

Liverpool rendition. Seems the start is very unclear. Is it suppsosed just be Bob starting alone?

Anyway the ld arrangemnet started in similar slobby fashion earlier in the tour.

Glasgow is still my favorite version.

Seems like its supposed to be 3 strums on acoustic per line, then the rest filled in with Charlies electric.

In Bournemouth I thought Stu was having trouble with his acoustic because I knew how the intro went...but when I heard it again in Liverpool I then realised they were trying out a new intro.

Strangely though in Dublin the next show, standard intro was back with the full acoustic strumming...

I'm pretty certain there was an electric component in Dublin.

It isn't a new arrangement, it is a modified version of the same old arrangement he has been playing for a long while.

Yes that can be argued. The feel of it is drastically different though and gone is the thematic subdivisions usually played by the acoustic guitar. Therefore it becomes something else/newish.

I like the guitar solo section. Dylan has long been holding back what the musicians in his band can do individually as well as collectively, it is almost as if he is afraid his band will upstage him if he gives them free rein.

I would love it if he came back with an entirely new band but I know that at this stage that it will not happen.

Yes but what's happened to the quality? They look like they're captures of the videos on a tv screen and some of them have horrible green and blue tints.

From the four (great) shows, I've attended (Hamburg, Lingen, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt) TUIB was alwwys different, had always a different vibe – as every show was unique in its high quality, too. Interesting, that TUIB in the first show (Hamburg) had a "more electric" drive, as you call it – while Frankfurt was the usuael acoustic guitar driven version. Maybe it is interesting for you to listen to ...

Agreed Hawkmoon. Actually the reason for it being more electric might have been because Stus acoustic didn't work so they had to start without him before he changed to another acoustic
