SOLD OUT!

Tuesday
25 April 2017 Frankfurt, Germany

Festhalle
Capacity: 13,500
Showtime: 8:00 PM

This is the 17th show of the 2017 Never Ending Tour

---

If this show really is "sold out," are they using a traditional 13,500 capacity set up?
Or curtaining areas off?

I really don't know if the full capacity is that high, but there are no areas curtained off. They even opened two blocks in the upper tier right beside or even a bit behind the stage. Most of those tickets are still available, though.

You should keep up in mind that Frankfurt is the most southern German city of the current tour, although it's rather midway from north to south. Think of all those Bavarians and Swabians.

Yeah, "sold out" is generally a myth, as far I can tell.

I was "in the neighborhood" for this one and could've swung it, and usually would've...
But, alas, opted for Greece instead. So far, a most satisfying choice.
Had nothing to do with being "sold out." Just noticed that, actually.

I will be PC and just say: Have fun everyone!

I'll be there!
Just arrived from Singapore. Unfortunately it was late at night, so the sun was not in my eyes.

2. Like A Rolling Stone
3. Maggie's Farm
4. Simple Twist of Fate
5. Shot of Love
6. License to Kill

8. Tomorrow Is A Long Time
9. Shelter From The Storm
10. Gotta Serve Somebody
11. Clean-Cut Kid
12. Knockin' On Heaven's Door
13. Rainy Day Women # 12 & 35
14. Dead Man, Dead Man

We should have reached the Blowing the thin man-section by now?

Good venue, sound was very good, except for the first 2 songs there was no voice on the left channel PA.
Bob's singing impassioned, how he pronounced words like cheerful or mud, you should listen to this show when a recording is available.
Charlie getting better/more important every day, also much interaction between him and Bob's piano on several outro's like Watchtower few years ago.
Much unlike the bit of lackluster Antwerpen they had fun on the Frankfurt stage, so did we the audience.

Thanks for the report

I think mud is from Spirit but when does he sing cheerful?

Bob’s pronunciation and phrasing is the main reason I listen these days, a genre all it’s own, lifts me up spiritually when it hits right, Holy Spirit.

I think that both mud and cheerful are from my favourite Soon After Midnight.

well, they didn't fix the problem completely. Sometimes his voice was too loud in the mix (at least where I was sitting). On the other hand Charlie was very clear in the mix. If he keeps on playing like this (or rather if Bob allows him to keep on playing like this) a of things might come possible.
Bob on the other hand delivered some rather weird piano attacks but some fine singing as wel

"piano attacks" is a good way of describing the current approach in that department!

I think that lasted only one show. Things started going in this direction during the second night in Stockholm and then just kept on.

I like them. As an example: yesterday he "discovered" a four note alternative melody during Desolation Row that he kept on repeating... which in turn energized him and the band so that the song itself became better and better. Not because of those four notes themselves, but through the dynamic they started on stage.
It's hard to describe but I really think the reason why Bob plays the piano these days and neither the guitar nor the harmonica is because he thinks that this the one instrument where he can still "conduct" the music - and he might be right about that.

On another note, maybe I'm completely wrong but during Tangled Up In Blue (and later again during.. Love Sick?!), there was a short moment where Bob was particularly close to the guitar on the left side of the stage (from the audiences view) and it seemed to me like he thought about whether he should grab it and play a few notes. Might have just been my imagination, though.

One of the best Dylan shows I have been to. High-energy, inventive vocals throughout. Every song delivered with utmost care. Awesome, just awesome. The current band is one of the best Rock & Roll bands in the history of the genre. The sound was great down the front.

Something like this I heard at others shows (was not in Frankfurt). For me this musical conversation had too much of a trick.
