Oh goody! Can't think of anything more sensible to say. I haven't listened to all of Triplicate yet, managed only the first 2. Preferred disc 2 to disc 1 on first listen though.

Good choice I think. Seems the climax of the previous concerts were almost in the middle with Love Sick and Tangled coming right after each other.

Yes...

The switch makes sense. So the second half of the show - that always declines in my opinion - gets more exciting. Love Sick is a highlight in each concert.
If they would remove the stale BITW as encore #1 from the setlist and include instead of it a fresh song in that slot, the second half would be just as great as the first half

oh no, stormy. behind the beat, never behind time. help.

Mezz Mezzrow & His Orchestra - Sendin' The Vipers (Instrumental)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5OlinbAyUY

"Mezzrow's own contribution to the canon of pot songs is a tune called Sendin' the Vipers, but his musical legacy is eclipsed by his autobiography, Really the Blues, which vividly recalls the early jazz era and contains this account of the effect of the first joint he ever smoked had upon his skills as a musician:

"The first thing I noticed was that I began to hear my saxophone as if it was inside my head... Then I began to feel the vibrations of the reed much more pronounced against my lip and my head buzzed like a loudspeaker. I found I was slurring much better and putting just the right feeling into my phrases. I was really coming on. All the notes came easing out of my horn like they'd already been made up, greased and stuffed into the bell, so all I had to do was to blow a little and send them on their way, one right after the other, never missing, never behind time, all without an ounce of effort.""

Thanks, Zagonga!

Agree that the switch is a good idea. Back to back Spirit and Scarlet Town--ugh.

maybe it's a hang up on form, wanting this song or that even if it is desperately pined for
like how g-d gets diminished by the concept itself. be on wing as a bee or butterfly amidst a symphony of resonance.

i was reading lately about how exquisite the senses of these beings is so breathtakingly evolved as i was researching the nature spirits (Marko Pogacnik), and happily just saw this quote in a kabbalistic astrology book that explains the limitations are in the sound of the words themselves, their resonance. bob mentioned this in his last interview, it has been a long time coming this time for me and it is such a jubilee.

i guess why it amazes me is that i am also just beginning a book of studying the kabbala in the context of the Golden Dawn and it all is so resonant.

just trying to help. thanks zagonga.

Show was better than yesterday, IMO.

Judging by Bob's face and how active Tony was tonight, I'd guess I'm not the only person who wasn't totally satisfied with yesterday's performance. It's been a while since I'd seen everyone chatting so much on stage. Even Stu seemed to have something to say.

Noodle was again relatively long and performed partly with lights on because someone turned off the stage lights but not the ones on the floor.

Very early on, Tony seemed to be unhappy with whatever George was doing. I've no idea what they were talking about, but it looked like Tony was warning George about something. Towards the end of the show, there was again a moment where George seemed to be ready to do something Tony didn't really approve of. He gave him the kind of look people give to their toddlers when they catch them prepared to do something they know they shouldn't do.

Bob now parks his dancing mic right in front of Tony. I guess we can expect a hot mic moment any day now. And there's no way it's not going to be hilarious.

Charlie seemed to be in a pretty good mood tonight. He started singing along right from the beginning of the show. Maybe that's where Bob should park the mic next time.

There were some issues during some songs (mistakes in the lyrics and the like), but it was a solid performance overall.

HW61 was again among the best.

TOBM is being cheered too much. People should contain their enthusiasm. I know the song is fun and it's great to watch everybody going a bit nuts on stage, but you don't want to give anyone the impression that's the kind of song they should be playing.

Stage rush was stopped by security today. Apparently, they already had instructions before the show to don't allow anyone to get to the rail. So those of us who made it there were sent back. By the end of BOATM, we're almost there again. I really don't understand that kind of attitude: no one's gonna jump the rail and get to the stage. There's no security concern at all. It's all just bs.

Certainly seemed to be doing Bob good to change things around, even if only a little bit. Made him seem a little more involved even in the usual fare. Either way, I'll be taking a break from all this now... maybe Frankfurt / Hannover, but nothing more.
