or something to tell the wife that will stand up in court; how do you break it to someone that you need to do yet another Dylan show when they don't see what all the fuss is about!

Most will roll their eyes and can't imagine seeing any musician more than once or twice in a lifetime. Add Dylan's name to the mix and they'll say it's time for the funny farm...

So rolling out plans or desires to see strings of shows, or several strings, in a year puts us in the category of "insane." Which is pretty close to the truth anyhow.

So you gotta just do it and keep doing it until they get the fact of that's what you do.
People go to sporting events all year round and it's deemed normal.

Go to multi-Dylans and it's looked at as obsessive & strange. Which compared to Joe Schmoe on the bowling team, it is.

Anyhow, it never really is easy to do so. I've burnt many a friend out on multi-Dylan ventures. Going solo is WAY easier.

If someone can't accept you for who you are, perhaps someone else will.
The trick is, you gotta be accepting of who they are too or you're pooched at the starting gate.

Try "Sorry love, there's no getting round it - I'm still the same sad, f*ckwitted loser you married and I'll never be Tom Hardy, so give up and get over it."

I have similarly obsessed friends who will go with me and if they're somehow not around I dupe another friend into seeing him for the first time. I'm running out of the latter.

It helps if they are a fan of sports. You can through shade back at them by saying,
What you're watching another game?

Spot on, and when I announced I was going to Paris she said to a mutual friend "I really thought 10 years ago he'd grow out of it but he's just the same". What puts me in a worse light is that I'm already a footie fan anyway!

As long as she gets to do the things she likes to do, and you do things you both like to do together, there should be no harm in it really. After all, you're going to see strange old man, not a lovely young lady. You can't explain it to people really.

PS: It's Valentine's Day tomorrow, don't underestimate that.

If I had wasted the money and bought her a ticket as well I'd be in deeper s**t! She's been with me to a couple of Dylan shows but it's not really her thing at all. PS Johanna, I get what you said about it being Valentine's Day and will keep the news under wraps for a couple of more days - the roses are still upright with all their petals!

I've said it before and will say it again. I've seen Bob twice since 2014, with 2014 being my first show I was restricted from the selection many in here have been able to enjoy him sing over the years due to his constant set containing lots of his recent stuff. If it weren't for a surgery I needed done, I would have been at Oldchella with the rest of um and called it quits on seeing Bob, but I wasn't. When I get some older songs that turned me onto Bob in his Set is when I'll settle. If I could just hear, BoATM, Baby Blue, and perhaps Desolation Row I would be fine with that. I'm hoping this summer might be the one that I catch him with his "Festival Set"

So far i have taken a cousin, a bf a daughter and my mother to see Bob...that was then and this is now. I find going solo is just fine by me. Family and friends shake their heads at me and sigh...and i just dont care.
It is harder to feel excited for Bob Sinatra though...but dammit...you know ill go. 8)
