Just for fun...a listing of songs played live by Bob over 900 times.

This list is sorted by Frequency and is culled from bobdylan.com.
It spans his career through the current 2016 Tour which ended a week or so ago.

Observe what you will and please share your valuable constructive comments.
Any mistakes?

Interesting! I wonder how far Things Have Changed has to go until it makes the list...

Funny, I wondered that same thing about Leopard (535 times).

Things is at 797 according to bobdylan.com, so another year or so!

Highway 61 Revisited has three songs in this list, making it the most represented album.
Ten of this eleven songs come from 60ies albums, the rest of his career is represented by just one song/album.

What this means to me is that a human being equipped with headphones could listen to every live performance by Bob of his song Highway 61 Revisited while traversing the entire length of the actual Highway 61 on a hoverboard traveling at its top speed of 13.3 mph.

Nice one, Barefoot, thanks.

What's interesting is that most of us probably think of Dylan as someone who playes different stuff every night and doesn't please his fans by rolling out the hits, yet the most played songs are all hits.

Even the "over 500 plays" list has very few surprises. It's either the classics hits or ModBob and only "Silvio" is kind of an anomaly in there.

Wonder if the ist would look any different if you just counted the NET? From a quick glance at the list I was surprised so see "It Ain't me Babe" up there. It strike me as a song that has been played to death on the NET and might have had a lot of airplay before?

OK, Handsome, the list here of 'Songs Played Live the Most by Bob' has expanded.
Looks like he's done at least 41 songs over 400 times live.
Duplicate frequencies are listed alphabetically.
Lemme know if errors.

Treating the NET as it's own beast is a separate project though.

These are the songs we've heard the most or had the most chance of hearing over the years...
...heard /seen 'em all live many times. Puts it in perspective, in a way.

Add the over 300 times played...and it's interesting & almost baffling that ERK makes it into the Top 50.

Well yes and no. Dylan never did a three year tour with mostly the same songs and at roughly 100 shows per year of course those songs will be high up. A number of other "Tempest" songs follow close behind, "Pay In Blood", "Scarlet Town" and "Duquesne Whistle" are all just under 300.

"Tempest", the album has seen about 1600 individual performances after just four years - and with just six songs played regularly.

The (early) 60s album have higher numbers, so do "BOTT" and "TOOM", "L&T" and "MT", but after just four years "Tempest" is almost on par to "Times They Are A Changin'" (the album) and much higher than "Nashville Skyline" (after 47 years), "Oh Mercy" (after 27 years) or even "Slow Train Coming" (after 37 years).

For me, the biggest single surprise is In the Garden - never would of guessed it was in the top 50.

Except for the fact the last Set List they show is Indio 14 Oct 2016.
Eventually they will catch up, I know.

Amazingly, Dylan, Inc. is right on top of it this year, regarding being up-to-date on songs played.

Well, it was played pretty much every night for three years, much like the "Tempest" songs now. There are quite a few gospel era songs in the Top 100, despite the fact that they haven't been played (much) in the last 25 years for that simple reason, too.

This site isn't quite up to date and accurate, but gives a nice visual that seems close enough.

Of my personal live Dylan collection, I have Mr. Tambourine Man the most. I mostly have shows from the 60s.
