Bob Dylan - Sponsored by United Propane Gas

Paducah, Kentucky, USA – Bob Dylan Wins Nobel Prize for Literature. American singer-songwriter, artist and writer.

He has been influential in popular music and culture for more than five decades. Much of his most celebrated work dates from the 1960s when his songs chronicled social unrest, although Dylan is a spokesman for his generation. Early songs such as "Blowin' in the Wind" and "The Times They Are a-Changin'" became anthems for the American civil rights and anti-war movements.

After he left his initial base in the American folk music revival, his six-minute single "Like a Rolling Stone" altered the range of popular music in 1965. His mid-1960s recordings, backed by rock musicians, reached the top end of the United States music charts.

Dylan has received eleven Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and an Academy Award. Dylan has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Minnesota Music Hall of Fame, Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, and Songwriters Hall of Fame. The Pulitzer Prize jury in 2008 awarded him a special citation for "his profound impact on popular music and American culture, marked by lyrical compositions of extraordinary poetic power." In May 2012, Dylan received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama.

(Edit: And most recently, The Nobel Prize for Literature!)

Got my ticket the other day.

This show will be bookended between Garden of the Gods, and a Casino in Supermans hometown.
Should be a good one!

There will also be a 6:30 meet-up at Beer Werks:

I haven't figured out my hat yet, but when I do, I will let you know what color.

Also, Sinatra slamming will be constrained to one comment per person, so be creative!

Challenge is an essential part of the Dylan fan experience!

Forecast is in the eighties. I suspect I'll wear my light brown winter cap.

A REVISION: breweries are closed in Ptown on Sundays.
The 1857 is a hotel bar and historical building footsteps from the venue.
This is the new location.

Sigh....nevermind, they are also closed on Sunday.

JPs bar and grill ain't even open. Don't folks here watch sports?
Looks like meet up is off, unless he brings the intermission back

Could it happen? Maybe yes but only if adding more Sinatra tracks...

Bob is homing in on us. Warming up the guitar for a special show for the Llama.

Sunday's a big deal in Paducah.
A couple of coolers may be in order.

Nice to see it so close to the river,
But it also seems so is the barricade.
Is there any river walking available in the vicinity, Kuddukan?

Looks like a nice area for a stroll.
I'm not sure what the train and retaining wall are for?

**NOTICE** For any ER'ers attending their first ever Bob Show in Paducah **

There is NO live set-listing allowed.

You are commanded to simply enjoy the show. Those are the rules.

We will survive.....and possibly the Llamster will throw us a bone.

A personal loss has knocked me down but I think I will still be able to make the show. My thoughts to share after will be tinged with grief.

But I think seeing Bob will make me feel better.

And thinking so I feel it is unfair to project such responsibility on this man who doesn't know me.

that's what he does though,
he's an artist,
go and see the show,
just as you are,
and just be in the room,
art is good for you,
whatever you're going through,
you won't regret it
