I'm starting to suspect he'll play this very same show throughout the US fall tour and into next year if no new album and material surfaces. This could truly be a NET.

I went to both nights in the end. Down on the floor near the front first night and then waaaay up the back the second night. It was interesting with the two different experiences of practically the same show. I thought he was on-form both nights, possibly slightly better the first night. I last saw him in 2007 (twice) and think his voice was actually a lot better this time, some really clear and controlled singing in places, less of the hoarse barking and mumbled lines from past shows I've been to. Maybe I've just got selective memory, but they seemed to have a better energy and cohesion to the show this time than previous shows I've seen.

I would've liked to have seen him change-up the set more between nights but wasn't surprised he didn't - they are really nailing this set so can see why they're sticking to it. Plus I like that he's showing off a lot of his newer material. I heard the typical complaints from other attendees afterwards about not playing many of his old songs. I'm glad he played a lot of the newer songs.

Pay in Blood was interesting - I don't like the Tempest cut of the song, but I loved it live. It was strange to hear him sing something clearer live than on the recording.
