Pedal/lap steel on stage, tambourine lying on keyboard, guitar set up for Bob, harmonicas nearby... so that if the mood strikes Bob he's prepared. While it appears he's doing the same thing every night (pretty much), I get the impression when he comes out on stage he knows the destination but is open to making up the journey. It makes the shows an adventure.

Yes, no keyboard at either of the 3 shows, maybe the stage was to small for this?

Worth some money if in good condition.

Cindy Cashdollar often plays one.

Yes, one thing less obscuring the view... for now.

I guess it's probably a way to hide the fact that Bob need to use lyric sheets. If it were a proper music stand then it would be really obvious, but with the pedal steel it's not really that noticeable except to the hardcore fans in the front row.

I guess this is true!

But...

October 24, 2005, Hamburg. The first and only (I guess) ( :?: ) performance of Bob on steel guitar (or pedal steel), he played a few nosense wah, wah, wah, wah with the steel guitar at the begining of H61R.

Bob used pedal steel as supports lyrics sheets. It obviously makes concert atmosphere, like the Oscar, the necklace hanging, amplifiers behind him, mirrors and busts of statues.

related question: is a guitar set up for Bob?

By the way, when was the last time that Bob played the guitar (in concert, of course)?
I checked some dates on http://www.boblinks.com and it looks like the last mention of "Bob on guitar" was on November 9th 2012, but I didn't check every set list.
Is this the correct date?
Has he said anything about why he doesn't play it anymore/at the moment? Does it seem like there is a real reason or just "Bob being Bob"?

Bob Dylan has played live the last time the guitar on Las Vegas. Last October 13, 2016, in "Simple Twist of Fate."

Coincidentally it was the night he was named Nobel Prize for Literature!
Otherwise, the last time he had played live guitar was in 2012, except in some soundcheck in 2015 summer. But only in soundcheck.
