Wondering, is this year (2014) the first year in which he has not played "Like a rolling stone' live since.. what, 1979?

I'm only counting touring years (so say 1983 or 85, where he didn't tour at all, doesn't count).

silly question, but .. interesting, at least somewhat...

Yep. 1979 was the last touring year where he didn't play Like A Rolling Stone since '85, '83, & '82 were non-touring years.

A LARS-free year is refreshing.
Good idea to give it a break...same goes for Hwy 61 & Watchtower and a number of others.
They'll be back eventually.

Yes, and after 1979, 2014 was only the second touring year it was not played in its existence.

Had noticed it last week already, but did not mention it when lamenting that 2014 was also the very first year since 1987 without even one single live performance of Bob Dylan's finest song ever, “Every Grain Of Sand”.

it's possible that it was the unrecognizable blues song played 4th at the private concert for one!
we'll have to wait for the documentary before we write the year off.

if the 'dylan fan' who somehow got the honor of having a concert played just for him couldn't recognize 'Like a rolling stone'...well, that's no dylan fan! :)

(doubt that was the song at the private concert, but it would be funny, somehow, if it was!)
