No, it's just that this tremendous thread, my favorite on Expecting Rain, merits life being breathed back into it in a regular basis

Wonder if Duke will pop in to observe? He's got nuthin' else booked.
Might as well.

Personally, I don't see this happening. For starters, I don't think that Duke was at Dylan shows before he worked with him and really, if you left a company on - for all we know - really bad terms, would you turn up at the office in the future?

Would he really pay 90 bucks for that? Can't see Bob (or anyone, for that matter) firing someone mid tour and then putting them on the guestlist?

Um, Duke was fired? Lol you’re funny

Did anyone happen to purchase any or all of the minimally used CD collection Duke had up for sale after he was fired?

I heard he might be an opener on the spring tour? Did anyone else hear that? I guess bob didn't feel bad for firing him though, so don't know if it's true or not.

I could think of someone better but maybe Duke would be more appropriate since he doesn't hold grudges, I saw once on his FB page.

Strange.

What's the consensus on this guy? Is he just a nutter seeking fame? I guess it's not too far fetched to believe Dylan may have impregnated a woman back in the 60s and was never seen by her again.

I'm surprised Duke is coming on board. In my opinion that clearly shows he still holds a grudge against Dylan.

The film crew appears very sincere and dedicated.

I believe withholding judgment is best, considering the stakes.

By the several printed accounts, and as an adopted child struggling to find his identity,

Mr. DeVogue has comported himself with courtesy to all involved, including Mr. Dylan.

I am glad he has found a family in Tina.

There is already a short film on youtube from Mr. DeVogue about this case.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgOmCa3SBcM

I think the new film is similar to it.

This is an awful story in my opinion.

If Mr. DeVogue is wrong with his claim or assumption, it was so easy for Bob to take Mr. DeVogue's (niggling) uncertainty.

If Mr. DeVogue is right, Bob is totally rejecting his responsibility for his own son, as he maybe has done many years before. (In this connection I remeber what Suze Rotolo said in her biography about Bob exerting pressure on her to do an illegal abortion, if I remeber correctly).

The only case Bob can't be blamed for his behavior is, if he can be totally sure that Mr. DeVogue can not be his son. But also in this case it maybe was the better way to have a personally conversation with Mr. DeVogue as to let the manager having this conversation.

That's how I see this, knowing that I only know the few facts from the press, so I can surely not come to a final conclusion. I have read in an article, that there is also a woman who proclaims to be Bob Dylan's daughter - Mr. DeVogue and she have done a DNA-test - the result was, that there is no relatedness between them.

I think it was 2012 when this story appeared for the first time, the time Tempest was published. I always had the feeling that the song "Pay In Blood" is about this case in any way - for example "You got the same eyes that your mother does - If only you could prove who your father was".

Can it be a coincidence that the release date of Duke's forthcoming album exactly coincides with the recently leaked fall Thackerville date??

Kinda amazing its been five years now since Duke left the band and the details haven't come out yet. Considering what a loud mouth he is its strange he has kept his mouth shut tight on the exact details.

He told ppl the story. Just not publicly. And he told it to ppl he didn’t personally know. Why tell a negative story to Bobs fan base who are only going to twist the behavior and blame Duke?

Perhaps Duke is probably avoiding the “blame the victim” syndrome, IMO

Duke was fired because he didn't stare at Dylan.
