Right on george! Welcome to ER.

yikes, i'm a little nervous for you - that puts your last show right in the beauty of 1999. Has your interest been re-peaked recently or has the NET finally reworked its way up to your standards? or have you just been busy?

I got into Bob in college. This experience culminated with a handful of shows in the late 90s. After graduation...marriage, mortgage...life...you know the deal. But when I heard about the UB show I figured I'd check in on Bob after all these years and see what he's up to.

An open mind will do wonders.

So, Troubs, do you mean that Dawes aren't really worth seeing again compared to a couple of additional brews at the bar?
And, in your opinion, are they worth seeing at all? Just wonderin'...

Also, is someone, besides Sweet Melinda, down with feeding the Buffalo setlist this way?

It ain't me, babe. I might make an exception to send a fast "no Charlie" text but that'd be it.

i think they are worth seeing....on their youtube videos. They are good songwriters and write compelling lyrics. but i can't think of a reason to see them live. I don't think they even move around much on stage. Not that that's a criticism on its own - but a lot of these bands get really popular and comfortable with their stage behavior when they are in music bars, but never really bother to figure out a game plan for when they are on stage surrounded by thousands. need a little bit of dynamics happening on stage.

a snooze fest for where the music goes for me. I saw them at the Chicago Blues and Bluegrass festival which doesn't really have proper blues or bluegrass, and very little grass to go around. It's basically a little concert for people that kind of like blues/bluegrass but wouldn't be able to tell you the difference between the two, case in point, Drive by truckers were the headliners, and Dawes was the last act before them. the sound of the venue was terrible, I wasn't thrilled, and that their fans liked them so much got under my skin. I can tolerate that with the Mark crowd, but it would get me in fowl mood if I saw them get a bunch of college age cheers, and then listen to college aged jokes about mr. dylan when he comes on stage . Luckily there was another space for a band during their set and i watched and little ragtag gypsy band.

This guy really was the star of that day's performance though, i'd see them before a dylan show:

so yeah, i firmly recommend the extra two beers.

That settles it for me. I won't rush in early on their account.
Beer wins again.

"There’s something about Elvis and Buffalo… those two words together spell certain death for authenticity. Possibly the most prevalent bootleg out there; absolutely ubiquitous. Same goes for the nearly identical bootleg poster from Buffalo but dated Sat., Jan. 21 - 1956".

I wish I going to em all but I'm just thrilled to be able to see as many as I am. All of my tickets have arrived and I've got all but 4 nights of accomodations lined up. Only slight concern is a less than glowing car check-up. Keep your eyes open for a broke-down Echo on the side of a highway somewhere.

I know this sounds repetitive, but I wouldn't know an Echo from any other vehicle.

Can someone please let me know if there is anything new in the Bob Dylan souvenir stand by Friday night?

I am seeing him on Saturday and I really want to be spoiled beforehand.
