Bob Dylan and His Band
Vieilles Charrues Festival
Carhaix, France
Sunday, 22 July 2012

A special night since this is the last gig of the European leg and the 31st show of the '2012 Never Ending Tour' in Carhaix, France. Let's hope that Bob & Band finish Europe with a tempestual bang!

(...and then after a short break... it's off to North America... yes!)

From: http://translate.google.com/translate?h ... 649099.php

Carhaix, FRANCE - Bob Dylan in Carhaix this summer!
It's official: the festival director confirms that Bob Dylan will be present at the next festival of Old Ploughs, July 22. A sacred headline after Sting, The Cure, or Thiéfaine Metronomy already announced. Information was still unofficial (early on), then it was whispered emphatically that the icon of American folk-rock scene has indeed signed to occur in July to Carhaix. Some authors whose tweets are generally well informed also demonstrated. Tonight is therefore confirmed. Bob Dylan will perform on Sunday, July 22. The news is a real event for the festival which organizers have always dreamed of hanging that name to their list of conquests. And also an event for people who will not fail as it should celebrate the arrival of Robert Zimmerman, 71 years and 34 studio albums since 1962 on the clock, both standard-bearer of the sixties generation, dazzling poet, awakener consciences, energizer historic folk-song and author of dozens of standard imperishable among the most important twentieth century, "The Times They Are a-Changin" to "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall", via "I want you", "All along the watchtower" or "Like a Rolling Stone". It is also assumed that the author of "Mr. Tambourine Man" and "Blowin 'in the Wind", which is currently a major exhibition devoted to the Cité de la Music in Paris (will play many other festivals).

I'd like to hear him pull off a one time song. Kind of like "Billy" in '09. Bring out "Life Is Hard"!

Anyone else get the feeling Bob himself doesn't care for Together Through Life? Seems to me he never gave those songs a fair chance live. The one exception is "Beyond Here Lies Nothing".

JP would boo him too, considering he's the support act (for Garbage and The Gossip) tonight.

Nah.... they're saying "STUUUUUU".

FYI, JP's never booed anyone. She usually just ignores them.

I was afraid of that. Last year Lou Reed was booed at this (x) festival, so it could only be worse with Bobby..

well the lou reed chant really does sound like a boo - so he really wouldn't have known the difference. 'looooooooouuu.' i've heard that a good handful of times...

What do you expect, in front of an audience waiting for Garbage and The Gossip? This is not Hop Farm after all.

In all fairness, his current show IS difficult to like for the uninitiated.
