Bob Dylan and His Band
Fourviere Nights Festival
Theatres Romains De Fourviere
Lyon, France
Monday, 18 July 2012

Showtime: 9:00 PM

SOLD OUT

Here we go with the 29th show of the '2012 Never Ending Tour' heading back over the border to Lyon, France to another sold-out venue as part of yet another festival. So here they are in another Roman theater, this one being the oldest in France. The venue apparently dates back to around 17 BC and was expanded upon during the reign of Hadrian. Charlie told someone the other night that he thought the Nimes Arena might be the oldest (70 AD) venue they'd ever played in. Not for long. As Bob has said before, "I see pieces of men marching trying to take heaven by force. I can see the unknown rider, I can see the pale white horse. In God’s truth tell me what you want and you’ll have it of course...Just step into the arena."

As translated from:
http://www.nuitsdefourviere.com/Bob-Dylan?lang=fr

Lyon, FRANCE - The legend Dylan tramples the soil of the Grand theatre Wednesday, July 18. 2012 is the year Dylan with a reign of off-series, a major exhibition at the Cité de la musique (Bob Dylan, rock explosion 61-66), a Bob Dylan Revisited Salle Pleyel (to June), but the legendary folk rock singer reserve only a few (four) dates in France including Fourvière.

I'd love the Titanic song to be introduced live by Bob on the NET! Is it true that one of the songs is about John Lennon? I read that in the Tempesr thread.

If ever there was a venue fit for a song called "Early Roman Kings," surely this is it.

Dont stand outside the theatre.

It's à great venue! Going there in 2h. Show starts 21.00

It can actually hold up to 11'000, unless he's playing in the small theater which has a 3000 capacity. Found the info here (in french) : http://www.visitelyon.fr/fourviere/thea ... romain.php
