Think it was Girl from the North country and Boots of Spanish Leather that one, he'd already done one and then when playing the other he started to sing it again.
And being a Liverpool lad, it's always great when he nods this way, the 'something' here in 2009 was a special moment - thanks Bob 8)

with his current voice all melodies of all performed songs are in some ways similar. Only difference is the backing, phrasing and croacking.
The singing melodie remains the same the whole show.

I wonder what's the reason to sing one verse of the middle of the song.
Was the audience singing or what? Other wise he would have sung "Hey jude don't make it bad" or something like that.
Thats strange.

BTW you can say what you like about McCartneys performance but this setlist Is Fantastic!

I'm listening to the show again:
Bob singed "hey Jude, don't make it bad" at the very ending of LARS and then he introduced the band playing the song at keyboard.

remind me of this one at boone in 2004:

I've never been to Strawberry Fields
I've never been to Penny Lane
But I've been down in the willow garden
And I've ridden all the hell-bound trains.
And I want you to know
Just before you did go
Where to find me if you needed to
It was early dawn
You were long gone
Before anybody knew.
Tears of rage...

They do love Hey Jude in Brazil. Last year at a macca concert, the fans agreed to facebook and twitter to bring signs saying 'na' and hold them up at the nanananana bit. Pretty cool! 8) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aIEmPaac5I

I think I remember a Blind Willie McTell where he sang "They're selling postcards of the hanging" . mid 2000s.

at this show, during It's all over now baby blue, during the line "The lover who just walked out your door" he seems to sing (to my ears) "the lover (silence) this is my belgian door"????
being belgian i obviously am a bit biased. but still, listen to it and tell me what he DOES sing, coz it sure ain't what it is "supposed" to be....

I never 'got' the whole 'Pet Sounds' thing and still don't.
Oh well, glad someone's having fun. I know plenty of folks who don't 'get' the whole Dylan thing so I can understand,

40-odd songs sounds great, but in reality I really don't want to sit/stand through a gig that long. I think the early 2000's days of 19-21 songs was perfect in length. 16-18 songs isn't bad, but I always feel like another 20 minutes or so would be perfect in the current Dylan show. That being said, I totally understand the reasons for a 1 hour 45 min show these days.

I know arrangements are always the same since years but does it matter with these songs and btw he's an ex Beatle.??? we cannot count on Harrison! Paul can do it, because he only plays 20-40 shows per year (would be good for Bob and his voice). Some songs are relatively knew it these setlists. I was last year in Bologna and he did a perfect job. Great show!

BTW´: Beach Boys ahem! I think you must be american to like this way of music. It's not my cup of tea. A show with one song would be ok, but to stay through 40 is ridicolous. (Did I really said Bobs hows are sounding similar nowdays?) evry single Beach Boy song is sounding the same since 50 years!
McCartney play 2 1/2 - 3 hours. Beach Boys only 2. The songs are very short.

it´s not the quantity that counts, it´s quality.

I´ve seen Macca twice, first I was impressed then I got bored. Too much "machine made" music. All those strings and stuff is synthetic, coming out of the blue digitalized, so what. It´s more like listening to an album instead of live. Btw, who can stand more then 17 songs by Bob nowadays

You're partly absolutely right. Anyway nothing can be compared to Bob's performance.(even with his recent voice and the static setlist)
I've seen Macca since the Wings Tour 1979 13 times.
There were lowpoints.
1993-2005 was buisness as usual but since 2007 the shows improved every year. There are also some classics who got first played 1-3 years ago.
Few shows a year is very good for his performance: It seems that at his age he is getting better and better. even some played to death songs are sounding good nowdays.

BTW I can't stand the singalong of Hey Jude anymore.
