Maybe it's just me, but I think thats probably the strongest performance of Rainy Day in a while!

Loved hearing that crowd roar when he went for the guitar.

On Hard Rain...Bob's vocal performsnce is terrible. It sounds like he's midway through the tour...not on the second night. Additionally, his pitty pat phrasing...strips the song of soul...and denegrates the wonderful lyric. If you don't feel it...don't sing it. At least that's what I think. Don't just put it out there for the fans that want oldies. Because it can't even sound good to them,

Bob's vocal treatment of Tangled is much more sensitive...and the peformance accteptable (I reckon)...but he leaves out half the verses of one his best story songs. If Bob's about the lyrics...then sing the entire song...instead of something that's gutted to where the story makes little sense. I mean, he never leaves a verse out of out of HWY 61...a song that can easily be cut by a verse or two...and lose nothing.

As for Rainy Day...HATE the record...but don't have a problem if he comes back with it as an additional song as part of the encore. The fans have fun with it...and at least it adds another song to the set.

I thought the singing on the videos i've seen has been generally pretty decent, although I do agree with you about Hard Rain

Gustavo Camargo from Bob Dylan-Brasil on facebook: Google translator

"Now I went back to Goiania, I saw the show yesterday in Brasilia ... was one of the most thrilling experiences of my life. And People say that he doesn't interact with the public? He threw a lot of smiles, gesturing with his hand, went forward to stage with some dancing and finally launched a kiss to the audience. There I saw Dylan a very lively and fantastic voice, weaving the music at the time, signaling the band head with your fingers or who should play louder now, who should stop if it was to stretch the music and such. The old controls everything, and this is the maximum. Good show for who have not seen him yet!".

LOVED RDW!! Crowd are loving it as well as the band, reminded me of 98 - 01 where it would often be the last song! What energy!
Hard rain is still the man himself singing a classic song, anyway he wants, looks like he's trying out all sorts of new things already:
Vocally, most sensitive singing on Highway to date?
The steel guitar pointing outwards (WTF)
The harmonica on the rolling stone video is hilariously awesome! Back to that blowing in between lines thing..
Guitar on Thunder, have to see this
Going from keyboard to center stage, to keyboard on center stage on Thin Man..
Rainy Day Women at the END of the show

Bobs restless, hopefully this means a change up in the setlist soon, but if not I dont mind too much because all of the above is what makes a Dylan show spectacular, regardless of what he is playing.

What would you prefer a better range of songs performed, OR watching Bobs spontanious antics at the rail?
Maybe I shouldn't ask that because most of you will say the songs.. but I know what my answer is!

Those were all bad, but that "tangled up in blue" is a bloody disgrace. But he did take his hat off for a moment during RDW, so all is good again!!

Thanks! I've been waiting for that one too. The reviewer at boblinks mentioned the harp here. Unusual. Normally it's just a Charlie solo during the instrumental part.

Stilll, some really nice playing by Charlie before the harp. He's into it. :D :D

I may be wrong, but I think this might be the first time since 1966 that Bob played the harp during LARS!

Rolling Stone featured a muddy vocal...which probably didn't have a whole lot to do with Bob. But the harp...though not sure what to make of it...did change the dynamic of the song somewhat. And that can only be a good thing. He does appear restless, with some odd movements. Maybe that will lead to change. Hope so.

Reminds you that it's really not about the set list.

First RDW in a while!

It's the first time it has been used as part of an encore since 20 March 2008, on the South American Tour funnily enough.

It's last performance before this one was 20 August 2011

What are you refering to here? That Highway 61 video? It's absolutely terrible mate - just crap.

I wonder how some of you hear things, I really do.
