I think Diamond Joe would be a nice and refreshing opener. :D

Dirt Road Blues... it would be a stunning opener.

Anything from the 2nd 25 years of his career would be a breath of fresh air at this point.

Would love a whole shake up. No Thunder, Watchtower, Rolling Stone or Blowin'. Maybe replace 'em with Meet Me In The Morning, One More Cup, Tough Mama... something not too unrealistic.

Honestly, he could do Mr. Tambourine Man, Just Like A Woman and Knockin on Heaven's Door in the encores and reach the same segment that wants to hear Rolling Stone.

What about that rumoured Titanic Song / Titanic Blues / All Along The Iceberg (or whatever it is called) ? Now, that would be a highly unrealistic yet fresh opener.

Or go with something totally unexpected, like Gonna Change My Way Of Thinking a few years ago. I saw him open with Wicked Messenger in Brussels (2009), it worked really well.

Something he's never done before would be great. Anything to cut the repetition.

absolutely! it's such a brilliant opener, and it's positively tragic that he dropped it
but that's bob for ya ...i also see the irony in singing "gonna change my way of thinking" every single night
