Hmm, they seem to indicate three French dates only and end of tour after Carhaix?

I read the article in French. As we can read in the translation they say that Carhaix SHOULD mark the end of the summer tour. But I understand it as an information they took from the official site (no dates announced so far after Carhaix). I really think they don't know anything else but what posted on bd.com! So no worries, we'll get more (at least I hope so...)!!

Here's the deal:

I'm coming from the Netherlands to see a Dylan show. I have limited funds, and I haven't been to most of these places. Can the french/german people advice me on what location would be the easiest to visit in terms of getting around and actually finding a reasonable priced place to sleep a night?

Thanks ya'll !

In France, definitely Lyon (quite big city with cheap hotels). Bayonne is small and the venue is just before the huge Bayonne summer event (lots of people expected). Concerning Carhaix, you can camp and the ticket is cheap (43euros) but accessing the venue is quite difficult because it's a very small town. If I had to choose one in France, I'll choose Lyon.

Hi, well, I can't see no location closer to the Netherlands than Bonn. The french concerts are really far away from the dutch border.
And not to be overlooked: The Siebengebirge on the other side of the Rhine. :D

When on tour we often go the budget hotels form the accor group (is it allowed to mention this?) which offering single rooms for around 40 Euros, depending on the individual hotel, and double rooms are not that much more expensive.

If they are reachable with public transport I don't know for they often are not exactly in the city centers.

No show in Chech, Slowakia, Austria (Linz, Vienna, Graz, some place in Carinthia) Slowenia Eastern Italy (p.e. Udine) would be the third tour (2x 2011) in a row without Middle/East Europe.(Innsbruck/Padova was more west than east)

Yes and that's weird.

Accor is great.... I've not checked if there are any in Bonn, but I've been told it's kind of difficult to find accomodation there. Apart from that, make sure you check the booking.com website, they usually offer the best deals you can get.

Bob plays where the money is. As with South America and/or Australia, it doesn't make sense to play there all the time. Same applies to Eastern Europe. This also explains the high number of shows in Germany (plus, Germany is difficult to avoid geographically when travelling throughout Europe).

He could easily fly from the UK to wherever really. There was only one German show in summer '06 (Gelsenkirchen) and none in summer '10, but lots of Eastern Europe in that one.

Bingo!
Dylan, Inc. has a lot of mouths to feed, salaries to pay.

My point exactly. There won't be a full Eastern tour every two years. He's been there in 2008 and 2010 and that'll be it for a while, save maybe for the odd Prague show. However, with Dresden being os close, I doubt a Prague show would happen this summer.

Not for logistical reasons alone.

Would be within the framework of this (one-a-day) festival, I guess.

@Alrik: I guess you're joking, but if not it's the Carhaix show. :P

I would also have bet my money on the 11th.
Anyway, long distances in that area without days off seem to become a regular.
Marseille - Barcelona in '10 was pretty much the same.
