Expecting Rain

Been listening to the boot of the last time I saw Bob live…. Canyon Lake Texas July 24, 2011…. It was the tape done by Cygnus02…. I know that it was his first real shot at doing a tape and a very good one it turned out to be….

Anyway, Bob and the band were cooking that day, almost right off the get go…. One of the things that I realized as I was listening was that I really LIKE the organ music….. I know that he takes a lot of whipping for his keyboard work….. it comes thru very clearly on this tape….not over the top on the mix, but there very clearly….. And I really find myself tuning in to that part of the music…. Even more so than the guitar work, which is where my attention usually goes….

So the question is this: Is bitching about his keyboards sort of the same thing as bitching about the voice…. Some people have quit really listening and just got in the habit of bitching about the keyboards and the voice instead of really listening to the latest shows…????? Fact of the matter is, Bob and the cowboys really put on one heck of good live show…..There is a real bang for your buck as they say going to a Dylan concert these days!!!!

I agree. I saw Bob here in NH last summer, and better yet, had the unique pleasure of joining several members from here at the show. Talk about a double whammy. Unfortunately, I had a migraine that night, and was operating under a dangerous combination of various drugs and alcohol to remedy the ailment(it didn't work). However, perhaps because being in an extreme altered state, I was picking up on sounds, like the organ, which didn't seem as noticeable in my previous show. I don't know if was the drugs or mix, but it was great. I could also more easily hear Bob's lead guitar work, which was super.

I'm always surprised at people who don't like the current incarnation. The arrangements are great, the band great, and best of all - world history right in front of you.

I agree too, I was with Chrome Horse in NH, and yes, .....for me, amazing performance, ....To understand Bob, you need to see him live, he is an interpreter and the interpreter can only be appreciated live.

I agree absolutely, and would add that you need also to be close to the bar, or at least with a good clear view of the band, in order to appreciate how amazing all the interaction really is ......

Yes, that is one of the really good things..... that band is tight because they stick to him like glue and move together on that stage.... and him, I really don't think he knows where it is going to go for sure when he steps on that stage..... Both individually and as a band those are just really good musicians..... ALL OF THEM.

The quality of Bob's live performances have been really high for at least 12 years now. For me, what's really amazing is that, just now, they're actually getting better. So it's still really exciting going to a concert.
