The article on Bangladesh said he was busy in March. Perhaps this will lead on down to
April.

At least we have some rumours while we wait for the arrival of 2012.

Possibly the other headliner will be Tom Waits:)

Wish he would tour his record.

If Bob and Tom do tour together perhaps it will be US Spring then Europe Summer with Bob doing some non-Petty shows while Tom plays some festival gigs.

Then something in US Fall.

At least we are having fun with predictions.

At least one New England minor-league baseball stadium is being considered for Summer 2012. May be a pre-cursor to the ole "Take me out to the ballgame" tour again. These are GA, which is good and have traditionally contained a second on the bill like Willie or Jimmy Vaughn or (choke) the little pink houses guy.

Oh please Bob, no more baseball stadiums; give me a nice seat in a nice air conditioned building, and I will be forever happy.

No date, but exploring 1st half of the summer season.

I'll go, but I was really hoping for something South American.

So that's about June/July? Bad news if true, for Europe at least.

Yeah, an Eastern bloc tour would be sweet in the summertime.

I like this Ry Cooder idea very much. He always puts on a good show. Don't know if Bob could keep up.

Queen: I really hope it goes the way you want it to. You sound like you need a fix. Canada is a great country to do some Dylan-followin' so I am up for that as well. Hope you're havin' fun in the meantime!

Well, yesterday Furthur announced an 8-night residency at the Beacon in NY after a couple of Wang nights for April. So if Bob hasn't begun to move by then, I may head that way.

I was at Wally's Bean Emporium last night. The second Monday of the month is popular there coz it's Sprout Your Own Beans Night. I was eating a bowl of chili beans, when I noticed an old man seated at the end of the counter, lima bean latte dribbling down his long gray beard. I recognized him as Timmy the Never-Ending Tour Tout. He usually has good information on the NET whenever he's on his meds. He talks nonsense when he's off his meds. Or when he eats the Ernest Borgnine Special. Alice the new Night Beantender told me he was on his meds & hadn't yet ordered an Ernie. I asked him what he knew about the 2012 NET, as far as possible venues. He didn't know.

"What about an opening act?" I said.

"Two words," he replied. "The Lennon Sisters."

"That's three words."

"Don't be a smart ass," said Alice.

Thanks for the info Pittsburgh. I'm gonna file that away.

now i´ve read this article in spanish, english & german and still i couldn´t figure out exactly when this is supposed to happen

i guess they would have stressed it more prominently if he was to take part in the jazz festival or at one of those parties...

anyway, i just checked the tour schedule of Luis Miguel (mexican singer also mentioned there to come to Punta del Este, he´s quite fun  ), and there is no date in january 2012: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luis_Miguel_Tour

so my guess is, it´s either a promotion gag (there is always a lot of namedropping and speculation, more than in europe or north america), or they both will appear at rather "exclusive" parties (like on january 3, but does Bob really do such events?) OR - remember the Paraguay rumours - there might be announced a kind of south america tour (next spring)...

He sure has in the past. At least four private shows are known, there are probably more.
