I'm curious what people think about this:

BEACON THEATRE PRE-SALE:
bobdylan.com readers are eligible for two special pre-sales before the general public sale. If you are interested please read the following carefully because the pre-sale will be conducted differently than previous bobdylan.com pre-sales.

In an effort to put genuine Bob Dylan fans into the best seats at the Beacon Theatre, we will be conducting a special pre-sale for most of the first four rows. For this special pre-sale, there is a two ticket limit. This pre-sale will be conducted on Tuesday, February 22, at 10 a.m. Eastern Time, on ticketmaster.com. ticketmaster.com will require a password which you will find on http://bobdylan.com/live/ no later than 9:45 a.m. on February 22. Tickets will only be available for pick up at the theatre box office the evening of the concert and purchasers will be escorted directly into the theatre upon pickup. Customers must bring photo ID and the credit card used for purchase the night of the show. Tickets are not transferable. Purchasers and their guests will be required to enter the theater together.

Another much larger allotment of tickets for each Beacon concert will also be available for pre-sale starting at noon on February 22 until 10 p.m. on February 25. These tickets will also be sold on ticketmaster.com using a password found on http://bobdylan.com/live/ in the tour itinerary.
There will be a ticket limit of four for each night and ticket orders will be filled using the usual range of options offered by ticketmaster.com.

Then, of course, there will be a public on-sale on Saturday, February 26.

Will it keep out the scalpers who end up selling on E-Bay, or will it just create chaos at the Box Office?

Do tell, friends.

Adam Dean

Just a quick follow-up to say how impossible it was to log in to "TICKET" "MF'S" this morning and get any kind of decent seats at all for Beacon shows - mostly sides and upper balconies available - really sucked!!

Had the same problem
So I am not going....You know, Prince has presales on his website for his shows. You can only buy 2 tickets and you get the sections closest to the stage. You have to pick up your tickets with your ID at the show, and that is when you find out what seats you have. With this Dylan presale, it was impossible to get the first 4 rows, and all the other tickets were awful....why not try the Prince way? All the tickets go on sale at once, and it is first come first serve. They didn´t go through ticketmaster either...it went through his website. I had second row for one of his shows...It might work out better than these presales.
