I don't like Bob's new song Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum very much. And, as I see, nobody really likes it. But why? What is making this song so incredibly dull? Because it's not a bad song at all. It's just something that makes almost everyone say: "Ah, not again! Why he doesn't stop playing this song on concerts?!?!?!"

Originally I hated it.
Then I heard an interpretation of Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum representing George Bush and Dick Cheney respectively, and I liked it.
Now I've just gotten tired of it and I hate it again.

It's monotonous, boring and has nothing to say. If he wants to play it....then fine , but, it certainly doesn't have to make the set list EVERY SINGLE night. This song reminds me of Sylvio. There was a time Bob played Sylvio EVERY SINGLE night. Come to think of it I think Sylvio was in the same slot as Tweedle Dee. Neither song merits that kind of attention in my opinion.

Silvio is a highilight of most otherwise dreary '96 and '97 shows. He played it pretty well every night.

A lot of people are sick of the song, but it tends to be the song even non Dylan fans love. Dylan doesn't play shows so people who collect them are happy. He plays them to entertain people. I reckon most people are just sick of it and try to come up with bullshit reasons about it being boring. Anything gets boring if you hear it non stop, but that's more your own fault for listening to every single show than Bob's for playing it. I'm not putting anyone down as I listen to as many shows as I can, but I'd never complain about what Bob plays, just if he plays them badly

I happend to think "Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum" is a great number. What else could have possibly led off "Love and Theft"? It's rollicking, free-spirited, circus sound takes me back to the Highway 61 sessions. Sort of like "I Wanna Be Your Lover." Great guitar riff at the break. An appropriate salute to Bloomfield, Langhorne or whomever.

Oh my. I tought everybody liked this song. Love it. The lyrics are great. "To big bags of dead man's bone", and the streetcar named desire thing. And it grooves. Really rockin'. Bobs voice is great, the bass line and guitar. ahhh... singing: "Tweedle-dee Dum said to Tweedle-dee Dee
"Your presence is obnoxious to me." They're like babies sittin' on a woman's knee Tweedle-dee Dum and Tweedle-dee"

He's played it every time I've heard him. I would rather hear Mississippi which is a great song.

Because the song sucks that's why!! Boring riff and boring lyrics. It reminds me of Wiggle Wiggle which is another crappy song.

The song is brilliant. To know Bob is to love Bob. Put some thought into this song until the light bulb turns on.

I love this song. The first thing that drew me in was the way it sounded, and then I became fascinated by the lyrics.

Could not agree more. Bloody great song. Good riffs and a good rockin tune. Like the words too. 8)

The song is amazing. It's all about the groove. It's obvious which users in this discussion have no rhythm..........just put the song on a GOOD sounding stereo, turn up the volume about three quarters from max and don't just sit there and stare at your Dylan lyric book. Tap your x' feet or something!..............oh, and get rid of those x' Wilco type cd's and get some James Brown!
