Eagerly awaiting reports as to whether those in the front rows will have as negative an experience on the visual front as many did during the last leg.

Must admit peeking at last min flight deals today, just in case.
No such luck.

Because I stupidly forked out later in the tour and if reports are correct and nothing has changed, may end up seeing Bob for as little as 12 mins when he isn't blocked from view behind the piano.

If you want to do a lady a favor
Here's what I want you to do
Just loan me two dollars
Until the next time
I see you

if anybody asks you how i'm doing today
just look them in their eyes
and smile
and say
i'm doing fine

missed your groove

Time passes slowly up here in the mountains

Fair enough. I've decided not to let the not being able to see bit irritate me. Because I could get very irritated by it and not enjoy myself. It does take away from a live performance I think if you can't see the performer. I'm just going to let the sound be everything. If both sound and vision were to be bad, well I don't know. Let's hope that's doesn't happen.

Hope you enjoy yourself Judas Priest. :D

I can’t believe Bob is playing in my hometown and I won’t be there. He should be legally required to postpone the show until a more convenient date is found

I’ve been in those seats multiple times all across the front row (left, center, right) and - as far as I can remember - the piano never prevented me from seeing Bob. It will often block the view of the band (you won’t be able to see Charlie that well if you seat in front of or to the right of the piano), but you can always see Bob and he can definitely see the people seating there too. If you don’t get blinded by the lights, that is (this is an issue that affects short people like me every now and then, but most people are fine with it).

I think I mentioned somewhere else (not sure where anymore) that things do work slightly different in Europe compared to the US shows. You also need to keep in mind that sometimes he does sit down when he’s playing. You’re still able to see him, just not in the same way as when he’s standing.

Apparently for the last leg the piano was angled outward much more so that those in the first few rows seated relatively centrally couldn't see any of him (except maybe his feet) when seated and a bit of his face when stood at the piano. It was only when he came out from behind the piano (something he did less than previous legs recently that you could see the man. Very unfortunate given that up front, sound is usually a tad compromised as well.

We shall see but I'm trying to manage expectations downwards and if the issues are resolved this time round then fantastic.

Ya, well...the choices we make in life, right?
At least the Catskills aren’t too far away!

So this Portugal show starts at beer o’clock for you too?

As long as you’re not directly in front of the piano, you’ll probably be fine.
And if you are, just grab an empty seat somewhere behind you.
Looking forward to the field reports!
