Post subject:  Probably An Obvious Question...

Having just finished Scott Wilentz's wonderful Bob Dylan In America which Santa brought me last week it made me realise that I had probably been unfairly ignoring TTRH which he seems to suggest may be one of the real cornerstones of "late Dylan". His descriptions of some of the shows sparked a real interest in me and I'd now love to catch up on what I've been missing. So 2 questions...1) where can I download these shows or if there isn't currently any way of doing this which of you kind souls might be able to let me have some recordings? 2) Following on from (1) sadly I don't have 100 hours available to me in order to plough through them all so can someone suggest the Top 10 of these with which to start? (I'm as - or more- interested in Bob's own input to the shows as the music he plays if this makes a difference).

I'm sure all this has been discussed many times on this forum so no need to post loads of responses, if anyone can point me in the right direction a PM would be great..

Thanks all...

Although it takes a bit of effort to find the files, Dylan.NL also maintains TTRH archives, and will probably be the best alternative after croz.fm goes into the great aether...

Thanks people. I doubt I shall have time to get to Croz before it goes down so will attempt and locate the .NL links over the weekend.

Any tips on particularly good shows or on the other foot any that aren't so good? Is there a "Top 10" list anywhere or is the best thing just to start with #1 and work my way through...?

You might want to search in this forum. As I remember, several people posted "Favorites" lists, although I think most were pre-Season 3. In no particular order here are my Top 10:

Weather - the first show
Goodbye - the last - Interesting to compare the two.
Baseball and Friends & Neighbors - Possibly the TTRH producer's favorites, as they're the only two shows to date to be "commercially" released.
Christmas & New Year's - I listen to this 2-hour special rather than "Christmas in the Heart"
Flowers - A "def poetry" smorgasbord
New York, California and Texas - Dylan seemed to particularly enjoy doing these three.
Clearance Day Special - The penultimate show and one with the loosest of themes. Kinda nice to hear Dylan break the mold

^^^there or you may want to take a look around the Rare Recordings forum on this website, there may still be some TTRH links around.
