November 22nd, 2008 - Harmonica Show - at 128k.

This week on Vinyl Tap Randy pulls over to the side of the vinyl highway for a little snack... a tasty tin sandwich. He sinks his teeth into a whole show about the humble harmonica, also known as a tin sandwich. It is the instrument associated with hobos and people sitting in jail cells but does it have a place in rock and roll? According to The Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Eurythmics and Neil Young it does. Tune in to the Tap this week to hear just how versatile the organ that fits into your pocket can be.

November 29th, 2008 Motown Show - at 128k.

It's a city, it's a record label, it's a sound... and this week Randy Bachman's run down the vinyl highway takes him to Motown. In 1959, Berry Gordy, Jr started Tamla Records with an eight hundred dollar loan and the desire to make it big in the record business. A couple of years later a merger took place and Motown Records was created. Berry Gordy's effort paid off and between 1961 and 1971 Motown had 110 Top Ten hits with artists including Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross & The Supremes, The Four Tops, and The Jackson 5. Tune in to the Tap this week for a little taste of that good old Motown sound.
